Client confidentiality is kept at the highest priority. What is spoken about in the session is private between the counsellor and the client, however in certain circumstances there are limitations to confidentiality.
The circumstances are:
- If the client’s safety or the safety of others is at risk;
- If client information is requested for legal purposes by a court of law;
- All counsellors must undertake professional clinical supervision with independent supervisors who are also bound by confidentiality. At these sessions, client cases are discussed but no name is mentioned.
